Case Study: Foxconn

AI-enabled Global Logistics

Foxconn is known for producing iPhones for the US technology giant Apple, and until today Foxconn remains Apple's biggest ODM company. Global logistics has been a vital part of its success, and Foxconn never stops looking for new ways to cut down costs while running things faster. AI solution has been the driving force that continuously improves every aspect of its operations.

Viverie AI is part of the team to build Foxconn's global logistics automation. The demo here shows that our AI 'understands' shipping labels. Our deep neural network recognizes shipping labels, and it identifies three different types on the package. Document understanding works best with unstructured documents, and it can classify documents and extract information. It is the key to achieve complete logistics automation.

Another key is the smart cameras that can automatically move, zoom in and out and adjust to the best angle to capture the shipping label images, as you can see in this demo. With the document understanding and smart cameras, the packages don't need any human handling in the warehouse. Instead, they are automatically dispatched to the next destination.
